Wallpapering symbols
The following list explains the meanings of the quality symbols and quality marks used in the wallpaper industry.

|
|
Washable Slight stains can be removed with a wet sponge.
|
|
|
Straight match The same patterns must be hung parallel to one another.
|
|
|
Offset match The pattern of the next strip must be offset by the indicated pattern length.
|
|
|
Reverse alternate lenght
The second strip is turned upside down.
|
|
|
Strippable The wallpaper is peeled off in one corner and can then be removed strip by strip.
|
|
|
Peelable The top layer of the wallpaper can be peeled off without soaking, leaving the paper bottom layer on the wall as a lining.

Quality marks | |
|
|
Gütegemeinschaft Tapete e.V. has published quality and test specifications for wallpapers, which, in addition to technical quality requirements, define human health and ecological safety. Compliance with the quality specifications is monitored by an independent body. |

In compliance with Directive 89/106/EEC of the Council of the European Union dated 21 December 1988 on the approximation of laws, regulations and administrative provisions of the Member States relating to construction products, supplemented by Directive 93/68/EEC of the Council of the European Union dated 22 July 1993, it is confirmed that the product “Decorative wall covering” from A.S. Création Tapeten AG is subject to ongoing production control.

Since 1 January 2010, A.S. Création has exclusively used FSC®-certified paper and non-wovens, which means that all wallpapers produced by A.S. Création since this date carry the FSC® seal. Established in 1993, the FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organisation committed to the environmentally and socially compatible and economically viable management of the world’s forests. For this purpose, the FSC® has defined minimum standards for forest management.

MPA - flame resistant The NRW State Materials Testing Office confirms that wallpapers carrying the MPA mark meet the requirements which are stipulated for flame-resistant materials in the testing principles for building materials of Class B1 according to DIN 4102, Part 1.

|
|
Wallpapers that have received the Blue Angel eco-label (“Der Blaue Engel”) are made from 60% recycled paper and meet the requirements of DIN EN 71, Part 3 “Safety of Toys”.
